Xmas!

Merry belated Christmas to all. The Virginia version of Christmas was a successful day. As you can see from above, Jackson was waiting for Santa Claus to come but he was looking for him out the window instead of up the chimney(the fireplace screen prevents looking up the flue).
The tree shot shows that Santa definitely came this year and even came in excess.
But it was fun. The Virginia crew including Lloyd, Anne, Katherine, Elizabeth, Paul, Laura, Jackson and I(plus Fenway, Brewser, and Speedy) were all there. The Virginia version of Christmas began with the traditional Julian Christmas breakfast with eggs, bacon, cheese grits and miniature hotdogs rolled in roll batter. Twas quite good even to a Northerner, and Jackson also took to it quite well.
Due to the big breakfast, the big meal of the day was pushed to dinner around 6 to 7, so instead it was time to take a walk around the neighborhood. And then on to the presents. Holy Cow! Thanks you everyone for everything. And Jackson says thank you as well. He started by lying down in the presents...
and then he was off to get one...and then the opening began. He lasted for part of the opening but he got tired and went to bed for the last half of the opening ceremony. He did return after his nap with a second wind and ready to play. Toys made Jackson happy! And then it was on to dinner which was quite tasty and nonstressful. Even the smoked turkey turned out well and tasted great. A few days after the big day, Laura and Jackson went puddle jumping in his yellow galoshes.

This was definitely a fun filled afternoon. Luckily Laura had the foresight to get cute pictures of Jackson that day before he was drenched.

And when the holidays were over Jackson was ready to swing into a new year(albeit with a really tired and spent look on his face).
Happy New Year 2009!
