Beach adventure!

So we made it to the beach this week. YIPPEE! (or maybe it should be yippee as it has become quite an ordeal to get dogs and children and parents all in synch, but we'll figure it out).

We went with Katherine and Mary and obviously Fenway, Brewser, Molly Brown and Maggie Moo and the recent blog star, Jackson.

By the time we arrived at the beach, 2 wrinkly boys were already swimming after dog toys and enjoying themselves immensely. Even Brewser seemed willing to get in without that much coaxing. He might be a water dog after all. Fenway actually would voluntarily swim quite aways out without his lifevest. Pretty cool. Jackson was initially unsure about the beach and he and mom had a powwow in the car so he could have a snack and then he promptly peed on his outfit again. So I just took it off!

Naked baby alert.

As I carried Jack out into the river, his trusty guardian Fenway followed us out to get a better look at the momentous occasion. So I would have thought he would have the breast stroke down by now, but he seemed to need quite a bit of help from Dad just keeping his head above water.

He initially seemed unsure, but the smiles came rather quickly.

His first beach/swimming experience. I dare say he still liked it better than Brewser. He was tired out by the time we left. Molly Brown was camera shy, but Maggie Moo was caught napping as all of this excitement was just too much for a puppy.
Hope this finds all of you healthy, happy and outside a lot.
