| We then made our way to Gran and Grandaddy's house for Thanksgiving dinner. |
But of course Jackson had to check out the brussel sprouts in Grandaddy's garden.
And Harper had to galavant around the yard.
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful and everything was cooked to perfection.
I realized that I've lived in the South a long time now because
my favorite dinner item was the cornbread stuffing.
Unfortunately the pictures of the table did not come out very well.

I decided to try making this monster of a dessert after reading about it in the Wall Street Journal of all places. The youtube video of the cherpumple is quite amusing too.
Its supposed to be a cherry pie in a white cake over a pumpkin pie in a yellow cake over an apple pie in a spice cake.
Well, that sounded almost healthy so we decided to remove most of the fruit and make our own.
The bottom layer was a pecan pie in a butter pecan cake, second layer was a pumpkin pie in a butter cake, third layer was a cheesecake baked into a carrot cake, and all glazed with 3 tubs of cream cheese frosting!
It was amusing and tasted okay. The turducken a few years back was better, but I'm glad to have made it.
Thanksgiving was a rousing success, and the kids have decided they want to do it all again next year!
